Ultrasound Physicist

What you will do:

You will use your profound knowledge of Ultrasound Physics and passion for learning to develop a unique medical device for measuring Gastro-intestinal (GI) function. Wearable medical ultrasound devices are only now becoming technically possible, which means you will be at the forefront of medical ultrasound physics. Your primary responsibility and objective is to develop the signal processing and models necessary to extract key parameters of GI function. This also means that you will provide critical inputs to the device electronics and transducer specifications.

Your Skills:

• PhD in Physics / Ultrasound Physics
• Experience in developing complex algorithms & models
• Experience in Signal Processing (Ultrasound a plus)

It’s not the first thing people talk about, but problems with our Gastro-intestinal tracts likely effect you, or someone you care about. Take people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - on average they would trade 10-15 years of their life to live symptom free, and 10-15% of the world’s population suffers from this condition! Yet we have no objective, and accurate diagnostic method for IBS, or for providing personalised treatment.

Chyme is working with the world’s leading medical & technological institutions to change that, starting with the development of a novel wearable medical device.

Who you are working with:

I have previously launched WattWorker Inc. (backed by Global Tech Venture firms Antler and Berkeley SkyDeck), and have 14 years of experience leading teams in the areas of Electrical & Electronic Systems, Software, Business Development, and Project Management.

Location: Remote to start with from Canada is an option, but ideally you are open to relocating to Norway in the Grimstad/Arendal area by latest 2024/2025 (it's a great place to live).
