Business Support Specialist, Sap

The Business Support Specialist, SAP is responsible for working as an integral member of the SAP Local team to provide support to local users. The Business Support Specialist will also be responsible for the coordination, validation and creation of Key Performance Indicator reports; Manufacturing reports; Ad Hoc reports for projects or new recurring reports required by users.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct meetings, testing sessions and administrative duties as required;
• Update pricing in SAP and regularly monitor pricing to ensure accuracy and relevancy;
• Ensure data quality and usefulness of standard and ad-hoc reports;
• Create reporting methods specific to the manufacturing process (e.g. profitability analysis; capacity planning and leveling);
• Provide analytical support for special projects;
• Understand how applications support existing business processes;
• Gather, analyze, and documents business requirements, translate business goals and requirements into appropriate technical solutions;
• All other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by management.
• Review reports to determine basic characteristics such as origin and report flow, format, frequency, distribution and purpose or function of the report;
• Work with business representatives to develop solutions that meet the business requirements while maintaining SAP Best Practices;
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement;
• Understand customer needs and quantify appropriate actions;
• Maintain a high level of user satisfaction in all aspects of support;
• Perform integration and regression testing on development activities, assist in the identification and subsequent re-testing of any issues uncovered;
• Review manufacturing & material management processes and recommend ways to optimize and improve through the use of SAP;
• Recommend procedures to improve report content, use and control;
• Identify enhancements to processes or operations that would improve efficiency;
• Enable end user success by providing effective and timely SAP support by applying business process expertise and SAP knowledge to solve defined business problems;

Qualifications:

• Preference given to individuals with hands on SAP support of PP & MM and a strong understanding of the modules.
• Working cross functional knowledge of: SD/MM/FICO/PP.
• Post-Secondary Education at either a University Degree or College Diploma.
• A minimum of five years or more of relevant work experience using and supporting SAP.
