Building Science Testing Technician

Overview

Element is looking for a highly motivated Test Technician/Technologist to conduct various building performance tests including the setup and analysis of test results to well defined standards and/or standard operating procedures. This position involves sample preparation, physical testing, scheduling, equipment maintenance / calibration, client interaction and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates testing of construction products including glazing systems
• Involved in sample preparation, test setup, data collection & analysis
• Participates in client correspondence and project coordination
• Maintain equipment calibrations

Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts
• Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a University or College program in mechanical engineering, material science or building construction
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
