The Role

Our Integrated Financial Services (IFS) team is growing, and we are looking for a Bookkeeper to join the team who is interested in providing great impacts and support to our clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the financial record-keeping of all client activities, including but is not limited to, communicating with clients to identify discrepancies, and completing account reconciliations. In this role you will partner with your clients to provide quality service and support. The Bookkeeper will report to the Manager and Director of IFS and will be provided with many learning opportunities, and potentially the opportunity to mentor junior level bookkeepers as opportunities arise.

The Bookkeeper will enjoy working alongside the IFS team and the managers to support our large range of clients and be equally as invested in who our clients are as people, as well as their business and the 'numbers'. In this position, the Bookkeeper will have a keen eye and be a diligently be a detail-oriented professional. This role is great for someone who is looking to make contributions and impact the team and its clients in a positive and growth-oriented manner. The team values education and experience and is looking to give the Bookkeeper the room to grow in impacting the organizations processes and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintaining complete filing system to support financial record
• Other ad hoc projects (process improvement, best practices) as required
• Processing bi-weekly/ semi-monthly payroll for clients
• Preparing monthly journal entries
• Providing monthly bookkeeping services to clients
• Checking and verifying source documents such as invoices and receipts
• Maintaining regular contact with clients and taxation authorities (CRA and provincial government)
• Preparing and filing of GST returns (monthly, quarterly, annual, and Quick Method)
• Preparing financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)
• Maintaining internal control systems
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Conducting any, and all other duties assigned
• Reconciling and balancing all accounts
