Business Solutions Advisor
Term: 4 Months (plus Extension)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Solutions Advisor, Workday, is a member of the Workday Support team which is dedicated to configuring and maintaining Workday, the institutions’s cloud-based software system for Human Resources, Payroll and Finance.
The incumbent is the prime resource for their particular area of expertise, providing Workday product and configuration knowledge to support end-users, develop options to challenges presented by the business owners (Human Resources, Payroll and Finance) and implement the chosen approach. The incumbent also serves as a backup resource in other functional areas of the Workday platform.
The incumbent remains current with new Workday functionality and best practices and pro-actively identifies opportunities for enhancing the user experience and driving the continuous improvement of end-to-end Workday business processes.
Working with a high degree of confidentiality and in collaboration with Labour Relations, Human Resources and Finance, the incumbent will ensure that changes to Workday do not compromise authorized access to employee relations, compensation, financial and other sensitive documents and information that is stored in the Workday platform.
Required Qualifications:
- Extraordinarily detail-oriented;
- Proven written and oral communication skills;
- Strong technical, problem resolution and analytical skills;
- Experience in other Workday modules such as Payroll, Recruiting, Absence, Benefits and Financials would be considered an asset;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in business analysis, including eliciting, understanding, capturing and communicating business needs;
- Experience evaluating client needs, time estimates, setting tasks, determining priorities and tracking progress towards completion;
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced support team environment;
- Minimum three (3) year Diploma/Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or Technology;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with and leading to advanced knowledge in the human capital management (HCM) aspects of enterprise resource planning systems (human resource, finance, payroll) and related business applications;
- Experience providing input for various change management and communication activities as required, including supporting the creation of training materials and user guides, identifying and supporting readiness activities;
- Experience in research and analysis to support a best practice approach to future state processes;
- Training in requirements gathering, design, configuration, test and readiness activities, specifically in Workday is preferred;
- Experience in supporting business process workshops; documenting business processes using Visio and development documentation for detailed requirements and fit-gap analysis;
- A minimum of one (1) year experience with Workday configuration with specialty knowledge in HCM (Core HCM and Compensation) and Workforce Management (Time Tracking);
- Experience with value stream mapping, business process and data analysis, business rules definition, data definition and preparation;
- Experience in creating functional specifications for reports, workflow, interfaces (functional), and extensions;
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of confidentiality due to the incumbent’s access to confidential employee information.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously;
- Experience in test planning, developing and documenting test scripts, supporting and participating in testing;
