About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor, Central Registry and Admitting, the Bed Utilization Clerk is responsible to facilitate optimum use of the inpatient beds throughout Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. The nature and complexity of bed demands in CRHCC requires decisions that reflect the unique daily circumstances and pressures from all sources. The Bed Utilization Clerk must have the ability to use sound judgment to ensure optimal solutions in ensuring high quality patient care. This position is also responsible for receiving patients in an efficient and courteous manner, always considering the well-being of the patient, families, visitors and staff in accordance with the philosophy of Nova Scotia Health. They communicate daily with Access and Flow.

  • One-year post-secondary education in business administration or equivalent required. Medical secretarial diploma preferred, or one-year previous clerical/administration experience is required
  • Ability to work in a self-directed setting
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in excellent customer service required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is preferred
  • Strong communication skills to provide accurate and timely information orally and in writing
  • Ability to work as an effective team player
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Experience in NShIS Meditech (ADM, MRI) admission registration and data correction

Compensation and Incentives
$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly
