The Role of General Manager: The General Manager is responsible for leading the branch, establishing operating performance, setting goals, objectives and expectations and successfully executing the company’s Strategic Plan. The General Manager is responsible for achieving the branch’s sales targets and profit margins, working closely with the sales and support teams in order to coach them to a high standard of sales skill and product knowledge. The individual in this role is directly involved in bid/RFP strategy, overseeing key account renewals and negotiations, strategic price increases and maintaining top level relationships with strategic customers.Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Driving the sustainable, profitable growth of the branch (top and bottom line) in both the traditional core businesses and in new areas and geographiesEffectively develop and lead the Sales team Ensure the branch is able and equipped to perform at the highest possible levels by following the Company’s policies, processes, disciplines and accountabilitiesEnsure all Operating and Sales processes are fully and effectively implementedMaintain the highest professional standards with respect to accounting, budgeting and cash flowEnsure effective financial systems and reporting disciplines are followedEnsure the Branch can benefit from the best talent it is able to attract and that Employee Engagement, Satisfaction and Capability are the focus Recommended Qualifications: Experience:Proven Sales and Business Development credentials5-10 years of experience in managing the P & L of a growth-oriented businessExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectivelyStrong leadership ability to motivate, train and manage for resultsAbility to develop various market, sales and customer growth strategies along with plansOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsProven organization and multitasking skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and changing prioritiesEducation:University/College graduate in – Business, Sales/Marketing, or equivalent experienceTravelFrequent travel As part of the Swish family you will receive; Extended Health & Dental CareEmployee Assistance programRRSP & DPSPCompetitive Performance-based IncentivePaid time off Swish is an equal opportunity employer, offering an above average compensation and benefit package, as well as excellent opportunities for professional development and advancement with a growing CANADIAN company.
