AGS Automotive Systems is a full-service automotive supplier specializing in the manufacture and supply of complex high value-add automotive metal components, including in particular front and rear impact assemblies, principally for pick-ups and the heavy truck market. BASIC FUNCTION


Works with various resources within the AGS Company interacting with multiple Program Management teams to meet APQP objectives for the Cambridge plant. Serves as a member of the Program Management Team in order to support the cross functional goals within the assigned programs for the APQP process. Reports to the Operations Manager. Regular contact with suppliers, Corporate Program Management Team, Purchasing, Engineering and Operation Teams. Strong problem-solving skills, communication, organizational skills and effective decision-making skills are required.


Principal Responsibilities And Duties


  • Contributes to team success by accomplishing related results through the meeting of deadlines
  • Learn to assist and facilitate projects within cost management, quality planning, human resource planning and risk identification
  • Coordinate appropriate risk management activities
  • Work and interact with the APQP teams as assigned to assist with all APQP disciplines, objectives and results
  • Communicate with the various coordinating activities involved with the program such as customers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Create and maintain customer relationships in a professional manner
  • Be able to lead, motivate and influence through effective communications the APQP team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Support the safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and maintain compliance as well as IATF 16949 registration
  • Follow the appropriate management systems which ensures that all required program launch activities and quality planning activities take place during the development of the program
  • Participate in process improvement and problem-solving activities
  • Ensure risk reduction is completed quarterly and folder has all pertinent information
  • Ensure that the program milestones are met and tracked by the team through the appropriate monitoring tools
  • Maintain document control
  • Seek all necessary information from the appropriate sources such as internal extended AGS teams, Corporate Engineering, external suppliers and customers
  • Identify requirements and expectations of the customer


Qualifications


  • Knowledge of the APQP processes is required
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of QAD would be an asset
  • Good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • High energy and initiative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to support multiple launches concurrently
  • Teamwork oriented and ability to work independently
  • Secondary school education in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Project Manager would be an asset
