The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) is located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and is the independent joint agency of the Governments of Canada and Nova Scotia responsible for the regulation of petroleum activities in the Canada - Nova Scotia Offshore Area. Governments have announced their intent to expand our mandate to include the regulation of offshore renewable energy development in the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Area.
The Administrator, Information Management supports the CNSOPB’s Information Management System and operates scanning equipment to preserve CNSOPB information.
The responsibilities include:
- Organize scanned information into CNSOPB file structures and naming conventions. Categorize and file information based on predefined criteria.
- Provide input for the creation and maintenance of Information Management procedures that adhere to regulations, legal requirements, and CNSOPB business goals.
- Conduct quality checks on scanned information to ensure accuracy, legibility, and completeness.
- Operate scanning equipment, including flatbed or sheet-fed scanners, to convert physical information into electronic format.
- Enter relevant metadata associated with each scan into the CNSOPB’s IMS. Ensure information accuracy and consistency while maintaining confidentiality and data security.
- Support the CNSOPB’s Information Management System to ensure information is effectively classified and stored.Assist staff to efficiently find required information within the Information Management System.
- Conduct regular inventories and audits of content within the Information Management System (IMS) to assess accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Familiarity with Information Management Systems.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Proficient in operating document scanning equipment and software.
- Diploma or equivalent related to Information Management.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
- Basic computer skills, including database systems, file management, and image editing software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
