Job Description
In this role, you'll partner with the Director to build a strong team, establish and maintain positive relationships with our team, our partners, our leaders, and key stakeholders from across the organization, delivering on a shared vision of delivering exceptional and aligned people services. If you have experience supporting Director level operations, the demonstrated ability to execute with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational and pro-active project coordination skills, customer service skills, problem-solving skills, a flexible and a can-do mindset, this role may be a great fit and experience for you and we invite you to consider applying for this exciting 18-month opportunity.

Where you'll work


At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.


In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site at a minimum of once per week in our Richmond office or based on operational needs.


  • Organize and prepare complex and confidential reports upon request
  • Partner with the Director to pro-actively plan, prioritize, and manage programs and initiatives
  • Pro-actively prioritize and organize tasks for the director by keeping track of deadlines and following-up on items with the management team, finding opportunities to delegate work to the management team as appropriate
  • Support the director and managers by performing administrative responsibilities including maintaining calendars, managing appointments, meetings, and team events
  • Review and manage departmental budgets and invoices
  • Tracks, collects, and reconciles team data on KANBAN board that informs trends.
  • Review, analyze, delegate, and respond to a variety of inquiries from internal and external sources by leveraging established networks and relationships across the organization
  • In partnership with the Director, keep a pulse on our team health and needs, work closely with the leadership team to make suggestions and plan effective meetings for the team
  • Initiate purchase requisitions and invoice payments
  • Compose written responses, memos, minutes, presentations, and communications from both verbal and printed sources


We're Looking For Someone Who Can


  • Synthesize information to summarize main points
  • Use discretion, handle confidential and sensitive information, and resolve conflicts
  • Interact with key WorkSafeBC personnel and external sources while exercising discretion in providing information in the absence of the director
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to a variety of groups and individuals
  • Meet deadlines in a high-volume, multi-tasking, client-focused environment with a strong attention to detail
  • Display a high degree of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential files and information
  • Organize and prioritize with excellent time management skills
  • Rotate through a variety of tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with technology and in Microsoft applications
  • Adapt, be flexible and learn quickly
Your background and experience


  • Completion of Grade 12 and some post-secondary education is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Teams
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience supporting senior management and/or director level operations
