Are you a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant seeking a fulfilling career opportunity? Look no further! Our esteemed non-profit organization is currently seeking a talented individual to join their dedicated team as a full-time permanent Accountant in Ottawa.
As our ideal candidate, you possess a strong background in full-cycle accounting (excluding payroll) and have a passion for making a positive impact in the community. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide support during external audits
- Managing accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for review by management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders
- Proficiency in full-cycle accounting, with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting requirements and ability to produce accurate and timely financial statements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Nice to Have:
- Advanced Excel skills being an asset
- Bilingual proficiency in German and English(preferred not mandatory)
