The compensation for this position is $21.29 to $23.96 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

6 months experience working with children and families preferred

Knowledge and understanding of First Nation's culture is an asset

In-home family support experience is preferred

Knowledge and training in addictions and mental health is an asset.

Two year diploma from an OPC approved Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician or Clinical Program; equivalent practical experience may be considered.

Experience working with patients with physical and cognitive impairments

Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and understanding of infection control procedures

KEY SERVICE RESPONSIBILITES AND SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

ADDITIONAL TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

To liaise with community partners on a regular basis, to ensure collaborative efforts in assisting clients to meet their personal goals.

Grade XII plus one year related experience OR graduate of a recognized one year secretarial/business program

Experience working with individuals with physical or cognitive impairments preferred

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

Medical Terminology Course an asset

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

Understanding of and commitment to the protection of patients’ personal health information and associated hospital policies and procedures

Knowledge of proper body mechanics, anatomy, basic computer skills and training in electro-physical agents and other physiotherapy specific interventions

Knowledge of common diseases and disabilities as well as the treatments, precautions and contraindications for them

Graduate from a recognized Community College Physiotherapist Assistant program that meets the standard set by Physiotherapy Education Accreditation Canada.

Must be cooperative and possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with physiotherapy and health care team members

Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels

Previous experience working with physically and/or cognitively impaired people is an asset

Other responsibilities include rotating on call (weekend and overnights) duties with other Support Services Managers.

One year secretarial experience required

Experience working in a medical setting an asset

Knowledge of medical terminology an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients, hospital staff, public and referral sources

Grade XII plus the successful completion of a one-year secretarial course or office administration course

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
