Must be an active Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a Registered Dietitian;

Manages, implements, communicates and supports residents and/or families in the involvement and participation in determining appropriate nutritional care needs;

Previous professional experience in a health care setting an asset;

Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills;

Permanent Part-time (80%) Position; 60 hours bi-weekly

Ensure daily hours reflect the budgeted hours, and report discrepancies to the management while obtaining authorization for any overtime work.

Summarize the daily payroll hours on the Employee Attendance Sheets and submit verified attendance sheets to management for payroll processing

Maintain attendance/absenteeism reports and communicate any recurrent absenteeism to the management.

Assistance with nursing supply management and distribution as required

Proficient in Microsoft Office with a working knowledge of Excel and Word

Replace staff on a daily "Call in" basis and update staffing changes on the nursing time sheet.

Baccalaureate (Masters preferred) in a relevant health care profession supplemented with leadership and business management courses.

Demonstrated ability to exhibit comprehensive knowledge and skillful application of home health programs.

Utilizes skill and knowledge in the application of current word processing, spreadsheet and database programs for reporting and business purposes.

Utilizes skill and knowledge in the application of appropriate software programs.

Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.

Any previous related experience or related education would be an asset

Knowledge of infection control procedures an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients/clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources

Relevant first aid, first responder training i.e. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate, an asset

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

OPWZ Long Term Care Veterans Unit

In collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, complete all routine inspections of lighting and change bulbs as required.

Secondary school education with some related supplemental technical training

Previous similar experience in a related capacity

Understanding and working knowledge of WHMIS

Ensure that work areas are clean and safe, and walkways are free of snow, ice, and debris.

Complete all routine fire and other preventative inspections on a scheduled basis and ensure appropriate record keeping.

Broad knowledge of evidence-based practice related to residential care, gerontology and chronic disease management.

Degree in Physical Therapy from a recognized program and two (2) years of recent and related clinical experience.

Broad knowledge of Physical Therapy theory and practice within a resident and family centred model of care.

Broad knowledge of the CPTBC standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners.

Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in resident care.

Broad knowledge of physiotherapy standardized tests and measures.

Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, and budget management skills

Recognized degree/certificate/diploma in Long Term Care Management

Lead an interdisciplinary team of Managers and front line employees

Develop employees: coach and manage performance

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role within the Long Term Care sector

Very strong communication skills and the ability to interact with residents, families, community professionals and various outside partners
