Experience and ability/willingness to approach resident support using a wrap-around service approach and harm reduction philosophies.

3+ years working experience providing enhanced case management in a community-based housing or related agency

Facilitate group sessions and prepare presentations on housing related topics, evictions, landlord/tenant rights, money management

Post-secondary education in Social Services or related area of study

Superior communication skills, oral and written proficiency in English

Current and up-to-date knowledge of social services and social laws

Experience working with the Durham Welcome Centre Immigrant Services is a definite asset

Work with landlords to ensure their units comply with bi-law and zoning requirements

Assist tenants in retaining their housing by offering resources and referrals to address their immediate needs

Organize and manage Opening Doors Program evaluation processes

Conduct regular check in’s with clients in the Opening Doors Program to ensure that their tenant responsibilities are being met

Additional training and/or certification in mental health, addictions and/or trauma counselling would be considered an asset

Working knowledge of community services and supports

Experience working directly with people who are experiencing homelessness or who are at imminent risk of being homeless

Experience working directly with people who are high risk for violent behavior.

In depth knowledge and understanding of the risk factors for homelessness and the barriers to achieving housing stability for vulnerable people

Computer knowledge in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department specific software, including database programs

4+ years of experience in demand generation/campaign/integrated marketing roles

Experience in building marketing programs that align with business goals and successfully move audiences throughout the customer journey

Understand our target audiences, their motivations, and perceptions ensuring messaging and creative assets are optimized to best communicate customer needs

Must be proficient in understanding data to make informed marketing decisions that yield the highest outcome against goals

Minimum of 5 years experience in case management in working with clients across Mental, Physical, Behavioural and Developmental Health
