Knowledge and experience of the various approaches to substance use

Knowledge and experience with supportive counseling techniques

Maintains confidential files for each resident detailing case management efforts and completes all paperwork in a timely manner.

Degree/diploma in Social Work, Social Sciences, Human Service, a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1 year of experience in service/people-facing fields of work (i.e. shelter/outreach work, customer service, hospitality, food services, etc.)

High degree of resourcefulness, ability to be deeply curious, and deep problem-solving skills.

Experience and ability/willingness to approach resident support using a wrap-around service approach and harm reduction philosophies.

3+ years working experience providing enhanced case management in a community-based housing or related agency

Facilitate group sessions and prepare presentations on housing related topics, evictions, landlord/tenant rights, money management

Post-secondary education in Social Services or related area of study

Superior communication skills, oral and written proficiency in English

Current and up-to-date knowledge of social services and social laws

Experience working with the Durham Welcome Centre Immigrant Services is a definite asset

Knowledge of IWK and community resources (DCS, law enforcement, SANE, victim services) and skills in navigating systems.

Minimum of two (2) years related clinical experience, required.

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in intake and/or client navigation, preferred.

Experience in child protection settings preferred.

Knowledge of Department of Community Services (DCS) processes preferred

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required or willingness to gain certification.

Experience using a Case Management System (i.e. HIFIS) and tools (i.e. VI-SPDAT)

Undergraduate degree in Social Services or related field or equivalent combination of education or relevant work experience

A high level of communication skills in both verbal and written form

A working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and associated acts

Interest in working with individuals living with addictions, mental health, psycho/social/physical, educational, emotional and/or environmental concerns in a variety of locations

Ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision

Provides ongoing case management and crisis management for families in Reena system

Ability to quickly develop extensive knowledge and experience within the Jewish Community in the York Region and Toronto

Experience and verifiable knowledge of the community served

2 years' experience in health and developmental services sectors

Knowledge of the intake process

Knowledge of the mental health sector is an absolute asset

To issue payment for client and vendor invoices as they relate to Ontario Works benefits (eg, dental invoices, funerals, etc.)

Over one year, up to two years of experience to be familiar with scope of position, or equivalent.

Working knowledge of all community services and supports

To provide customer service and respond to inquiries of Ontario Works participants and Haldimand and Norfolk residents

To process applications for emergency income assistance

Provide customer service through calls, walk-ins and face-to-face inquiries of Ontario Works participants

Effective organizational skills, planning, and prioritizing.

Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of issues affecting refugee, immigrant, and racialized women.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in English, knowledge of French is an asset.

Respond to all requests for interpretation and translation services in a timely and professional manner.
