Disability Claims Analyst Jobs

5+ years’ related experience in health claims management

Post secondary diploma in social work, medical science, risk management or communications.

Advanced understanding of claims management processes and objectives from inception to resolution cycles.

Assess claims for benefit entitlement by reviewing legislative, medical, functional, and occupational information.

Other duties as directed by the Senior Manager, Total Rewards.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Good to have automation experience -Proficient in Test Management Tools JIRA/ Zephyr or others

Excellent knowledge of P&C insurance.

Sound knowledge of P&C Insurance domain and claims system work flow and testing

Workers compensation knowledge is good to have

Knowledge about Regulatory Reporting testing

Sound Knowledge of Test Plan, Test Strategy and Test Execution

Excellent time management, prioritization, organizational, and planning skills required.

Prepares subrogation documents and manages cost recovery for any applicable claim files.

Participates in team meetings and proactively offers support, as needed, to colleagues on various matters.

Minimum 2 years of experience handling insurance claims. Prior experience in auto and/or commercial transportation claims would be considered an asset.

Must be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must have excellent negotiation skills and be customer-service focused.

Demonstrated organizational skills; the ability to manage and prioritize workload and diary management

Minimum 2 years of experience adjusting Accident and Health claims

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to work independently on matters within granted authority

Confident knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, MSWord, and Excel)

Work Experience: 1 to 3 years relevant experience. Background in a health-related field or case management would be an asset.

Strong organization and prioritization skills required to manage different type of tasks

Strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and can work with minimum supervision.

Experience and knowledge of managing files related to mental health.

Manage a large caseload of disability claims

Knowledge in life insurance and experience in life and disability claims management would be an asset.

Experience related to disability claims management is preferred.

Plan, implement and evaluate sound case management principles.

Knowledge of the insurance benefit industry is considered an asset.

Must possess excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience or knowledge with Fineos is an asset.

Responsible for assisting in the timely management of Creditor Disability Claims

Proven exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage several tasks at the same time

Post-secondary education in health or business administration

Acute business knowledge to allow proper management of claims requests

University degree or equivalent experience

3 to 7 years of experience in the insurance field

Bilingualism; excellent knowledge of French and English
