Ensure accurate recording of all transactions during month-end and quarter-end close within the specified timelines

Gain a deep understanding of corporate transactions and generate elimination entries for consolidation purposes

Record and balance intercompany transactions (cash transfers, investments, distributions, management fees) and maintain intercompany accounts accurately.

Proactively identify and resolve issues regarding the monthly financial results and liaise with various finance teams as required.

2 to 3 years experience in a corporate accounting function.

Experience in a large corporate/publicly-traded organization and/or in a multi‐currency environment is preferred.

Experience with Yardi is an asset

Process and review monthly monetary revaluations.

Support the Accounting Manager in providing accurate and timely financial and non-financial information requests to other departments in the group

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Minimum 2 years’ experience in real estate accounting

Advanced excel skills and familiarity with Yardi preferred

Responsible for the full cycle of accounting for a portfolio of retirement residences

Provide support to the retirement sites Director of Administration including resident account ledger reconciliations, system questions and payables processing support

Support financial month-end close and other reporting requirements for corporate entities including financial statement and supporting schedule preparation.

Knowledge of basic accounting (debit and credit, journal entries etc.)

Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP (an asset).

Understanding of Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products

Review accruals and billings, management fee calculations, investment ledger, waterfall calculations for several funds and their related entities

Support Fund Managers throughout quarter-end and year-end processes

Support Fund Managers and fund administrators in the delivery and issuance of quarterly investor reporting

Oversee and support all other ongoing reporting deliverables of the Funds, including compliance certifications, credit facility compliance and regulatory reporting

Assist with special projects led by the Private Equity Fund Finance Team, or in collaboration with other corporate groups

Minimum 2 years related experience

Minimum one (1) year of experience with general accounting or full-cycle month-end close process

Superior interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels

Previous experience with JD Edwards is preferred

Previous experience with Wdesk or Insight is an asset

Exposure to, or experience in, real estate is an asset 

Assisting the team with compliance requirements and special projects:

Drive insight into capital asset management and reporting and supporting the initiative to creative predictive reporting

At least three years of progressive experience on financial report analysis and account reconciliation

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with and analyze large datasets

Knowledge of GAAP & IFRS

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, be self-motivated and demonstrate trustworthiness

Support the preparation of investor statements, reporting packages, and compliance requirements

3+ years of progressive experience in full cycle and/or public accounting

Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and finance software

BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field
