What You’ll Do
The Wind Site Operator will play a key role by focusing on the execution of maintenance on Wind Farm Balance of Plant equipment. This will include substation and underground electrical collector cables including accessories. You will also assist Team Members in managing service contracts with contractors. This is a salaried position with occasional on call status required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Operation Safety Policy Instructions, conduct field work in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) applicable regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture.
  • Support site manager for all phases of timely Environmental Health and Safety inspections and reporting, financial reporting, turbine availability and Balance of Plant monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Observe and ensure completion of work carried out by the Maintenance Provider for turbines.
  • Monitor and maintain the infrastructure of the facility, including roadways, collection systems and transmission lines.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and troubleshooting as needed including utility locates.
  • Collaborate closely with Northland Operations teams on maintenance and outages, improvement projects, development, and financial performance.
  • Maintain power generation reports and computer database as well as interpret fault reports.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Experience in construction and energy infrastructure and maintenance considered an asset.
  • Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 100m.
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
  • Experience using SharePoint, Maximo and Microsoft Office Suite considered an asset.
  • Experience: 1+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program. Electrical testing considered an asset.
