Technician I
Sharp Hills / Sedalia, Alberta – 1hr west of Kindersley, SK and east of Hanna, AB; 3hrs from Calgary, AB

A DAY IN THE LIFE
In this position you’ll use your skills and experience to perform scheduled service, fault analysis/troubleshooting, and potential main component or blade work on wind turbines. During a typical day, you will work at heights and in confined spaces, while being exposed to the elements of weather. At this site near Oyen, Alberta, you will typically have shifts 5 days a week at 8-10 hours a day, but you also will have an on-call rotation schedule for off-work hours (weekends). The team here normally works in teams of 2-3 and typically will climb 1-2 turbines a day. This is a new site and for the first 6months or so you will be traveling to another site for on-the-job training, which will be covered by Vestas.
More About You
✓ You will need a safety-focused mindset and your positive attitude will contribute to your ability to work in a team environment
✓ You will bring a high school dipolma or equivalent and you will bring 2-3years of transferrable mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work background
✓ An agricultural background or work experience is a greate transferrable avenue to this entry level service technician position with Vestas
✓ You will train and certify through our state-of-the-art wind technician training program
