Network Infrastructure
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The successful candidate will work with the Network Automation team and support the Network Services Platform (NSP) open interfaces towards our partners and our internal and external customers. APIs are a critical element of the current and future success of the Network Service Platform product. With the rapid introduction of new content and functionality into the product, ensuring our APIs are consistent, well-documented and well-supported, is paramount.
As part of greater scope, our team maintains the Nokia Network Developer portal at https://network.developer.nokia.com/ and also maintains the Network Services Platform "cloud" labs available to external users. This will be the candidate's key area of contribution.
Education Recommendations
Currently a candidate for a bachelor's degree or diploma in Software Engineering or Computer Science or related field with an accredited school in Canada.
What You Will Learn And Contribute To
As part of the team, you will:
  • Work closely with other developers and actively participate in portal-related discussions
  • Develop various features of the Developer Portal using Python/Django
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with an excellent team of engineers
  • Code, test and debug new or existing features of the portal
  • Take responsibility to write compelling, scalable code
You have :
  • Familiarity with Unix (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Some Experience with web development (HTML, CSS and JavaScript).
  • Strong programming skills in Python (Experience with Django Framework preferred)
It would be nice if you also had:
  • Strong grasp of object-oriented software design concepts
  • Strong problem-resolution skills; ability to learn quickly.
  • Knowledge of agile software design and test methodologies.
  • Experience with Git version control system and/or micro-services build architecture (Gradle).

You can troubleshoot and come up with ideas for actions that could be taken to diagnose or fix problems. You will be exposed to the multiple stages of software development and earn the opportunity to choose your next project.
