Job Description

Vendor Risk Governance Senior Reporting and Audit Specialist

Duration: 1 year

Location: Remote, Candidates should be in Canada and work in EST time zone

Job Summary: The Vendor Risk Governance Senior Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Director, Procurement Governance in ensuring the completion of required metric reporting, vendor governance and data collection and analysis activities. We are looking for an astute professional who can pick up new data sets and metric calculations quickly, effectively interface and collaborate with internal and external auditors, business stakeholders, legal, compliance and risk professionals. A successful candidate will have experience in interpreting data, analyzing results, developing and implementing data analysis and acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources. The candidate must possess superior relationship management skills and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and exercise sound, independent judgment. This role entails monthly reporting responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: The Vendor Risk Governance Senior Specialist will assist the Director, Procurement Governance in completing the following activities: o Provide quality oversight to datasets required to calculate complex KRIs o Work independently and diligently to meet tight reporting timelines o Collaborate with ongoing data improvement initiatives to continuously improve the reporting process o Manage internal and external audit requests for which Procurement is responsible, including compiling documentary evidence and drafting formal responses. o Gather information necessary to complete periodic Privacy and Compliance reports and self-assessments on behalf of Procurement. o Respond to periodic regulatory request requiring the gathering, analysis and interpretation of large amounts of data from multiple data sources and compiling into a cohesive, understandable format. o Gather industry benchmarking information relating to Procurement Governance projects. o Coordinate supplier audits for instances of underpayment to Manulife. o Work with the Director to prepare Enterprise Vendor Risk Management Committee reports, providing updates on initiatives, audits and compliance activity as applicable. o Assist in the management, organization and communication related to documents posted to the internal Procurement website, ensuring the correct documents (i.e., Procurement Policies, Standards, Guidelines, etc.) are published and up to date. o Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk Areas, business stakeholders and other groups as necessary to meet Manulife’s objectives. Job Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Competencies): • Understand structured data: an expert in available data sources, what they mean and how they can /should be interpreted for analysis. • Tactical support of data validation, consolidation and cleansing processes. • Understand the broader business context of data and provide meaningful insights for leadership to action; work collaboratively with teams to optimize analysis and insights • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas of moderate difficulty, pivot tables, and data manipulation • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate information/data from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details and make data-driven strategic recommendations • Agile, has ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment with conflicting and changing priorities and deadlines • Experience in Procurement and/or Vendor Governance including implementation of vendor management policies and processes. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels including senior management. • Get-it-done attitude with an ability to effectively follow-through and anticipate next steps with all ongoing initiatives. • Ability to foster and build relationships, engage and influence others, work with diverse subject matter experts. • Flexible and adaptable when dealing with change, with a strong awareness and understanding of cultural diversity. • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products including MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Visio. • Proven ability to multi-task and manage concurrent projects. • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. • Understanding of complex / matrix organization. • Expertise in working within a global organization. Education/Professional Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Finance • Experience in Procurement, Risk, and/or Finance • 3+ years demonstrated success in a progressive number of Procurement or Risk roles • Industry recognized Procurement Certification(s) a plus Preferred: Experience with Vendor Risk Management, Governance and Operational Risk Management Experience with Data Analytics Experience in roles within large, multi-national corporations
