THE POSITION


The Translator is responsible for providing high-quality and accurate translations (mainly English to French and occasionally from French to English) of various materials, which may include, but not limited to, promotional materials, web content, internal communications, policies and procedures, product monographs etc. within the defined Service Level Agreements to meet the customers’ needs.


Responsibilities


  • Provides translations that accurately convey the intended message while maintaining the style and language level of the original document, including social media content and campaign material adaptations
  • Proofread documents and packaging components to be published to ensure there are no errors in formatting and content which may result in re-work or have legal implications to the organization
  • Assists with managing and coordinating translation projects and outsourcing to external translators if needed
  • Assists with the development and standardization of terminology to ensure consistent branding and use of such terminology
  • Communicate with customers when needed for clarity or to ensure understanding.
  • Assists with revising documents translated by internal translators and translation agencies upon request


Requirements


  • Fluent in English and French
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and translation providers
  • Good working knowledge of business office software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computer-assisted translation softwares (i.e. MemoQ)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work harmoniously with diverse teams (cross-functional collaboration)
  • Bachelor’s degree in translation
  • Minimum of 2 years of translation experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a related medical/scientific field
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health Canada and industry regulations


This position is considered hybrid.
