Status: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Cambridge, ON

Working Conditions: Hybrid model (2 days working from home)

2023 Salary: $2023 salary: $ 82,785 - $ 97,394

Digital Content Coordinator

Waterloo Regional Police Service

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) requires a Digital Content Coordinator. The WRPS delivers exceptional police services to its residents. As the Digital Content Coordinator


You Will:

  • Prepare and present final designs/layouts for approval and organizes production, print buying and monitor quality control;
  • Research, recommend and implement technical solutions to meet Corporate Communication objectives;
  • Create content for internal and external communication materials in print and other mediums for a variety of projects;
  • Coordinate and perform pre-production activities such as scheduling, location setup, set design, graphic preparation and rehearsals;
  • Perform post-production activities including, but not limited to scene selection, editing, graphics, special effects, music selection and scoring, and media conversion and duplication;
  • Responsible for changes, new features and content to the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) intranet. Collaborate with the Information Technology Branch for related upgrades;
  • Under the direction of the Supervisor, plan, develop and manage video and multi-media projects;
  • Coordinate and support live events, such as online streaming and podcasts;
  • Analyze requests and conceptualize creative solutions; write and compose proposals, scripts and storyboards;
  • Actively participate in Corporate Communications projects in the design and development of communication plans and translates strategies into multi-media presentations, graphic design elements and video;
  • May attend special events to take photographs/videos and incorporate content into multimedia platforms; and
  • Plan, direct, shoot and edit video and multimedia productions to ensure product quality;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Use computer software to generate images, illustrations and other artwork;
  • Determine filming sequences, camera movements, and picture composition; select and set up required equipment;
  • Narrate or host new video productions as requested;


You Have:

  • English fluency required, both spoken and written with extreme attention to detail including critical proofreading skills;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of graphic and multimedia design, photographic skills and photo editing, video production and video editing;
  • Two (2) years of previous experience creating digital content;
  • Skill in the operation of a personal computer with basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint;
  • Creativity, artistic talent and resourcefulness are required to develop innovative multimedia products and solutions for unique situations;
  • Successful completion of a three-year community college diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Media Arts, or a related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Knowledge of creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and InDesign;
  • A valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License with no more than six demerit points is required to travel within and outside the Region to attend meetings, seminars and conferences.
  • Demonstrated excellence in spelling, grammar and composition at an advanced level;
  • Knowledge of issues affecting policing and the impact of media on policing;

  • Able to verbally communicate to conduct presentations to the Chief and Senior Leadership team;
  • Able to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with senior staff, members and community partners;
  • Able to think strategically as well as creatively; ability to initiate, outline, align, organize and execute plans against defined strategies and goals;
  • Able to present comprehensive designs, layouts and storyboards to Senior Management;
  • Able to read and analyze and translate complex and abstract material into multimedia communication tools appropriate for the audience;
