Introduction

We’re looking for a Technical Support Specialist Lead for our Brand NEW FLSmidth Service Center in Wabush, Newfoundland, and Labrador, Canada, which will support our Iron Ore customers in the area.

You’ll be part of the FLSmidth Service Centers network, supporting our products with rebuilds and technical assistance.

Short Department Description

You’ll be part of the Professional Services team which includes the Service Center network plus technical assistance.

Your Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

• Practice tool management by properly using and caring for tools and equipment.
• Read drawings to complete rebuild jobs.
• Manage warehousing activities keeping parts stock according to the inventory.
• Promote a "safety first" culture by active participation at safety toolbox meetings, continuous evaluation of the work site for potential hazards or unsafe actions, use of proper Personal Protective Equipment "PPE" to the site or work to be performed, and reporting near misses/hazards, accidents, or injuries (no matter the severity) and identify unsafe equipment/work per company guidelines.
• Support technically FLSmidth products visiting customers in the area.
• Perform quality work by following instructions and procedures.
• Maintain tools and equipment at the shop in proper condition.

What You Bring

• Strong interpersonal, influence, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, coordinate multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred is 5 years of experience performing mechanical construction or mechanical repairs of industrial process equipment.
• Willingness to travel and work with a team of professionals.
• Capable of using a computer and software systems (MS-Office, MS-Project, Adobe, and similar).
• Able to perform metal working techniques (grinding; cutting; welding) and alignment methods to efficiently deliver a consistent level of quality.
