About the Position:
The Tier 1 Technical Support/ Help Desk member is responsible for acting as a liaison between internal and external users with the MIS department. Reporting to the MIS Manager, this member will be responsible for ensuring all hardware deployment and troubleshooting is complete for Cardinal as an organization; and is required to support multilevel members. This role will require hands-on management of various IT equipment including the collection, delivery and allocation of hardware such as laptops, cell phones, Cisco VOIP phones and inventory management for tablets, and RF scanners. Installation of wires (running wires etc.). is an asset.
Responsibilities:
· Engaging with other Cardinal locations and supporting hardware inquiries (cell phones, laptops, Cisco COIP phones, RF Scanners, Tablets etc.) in a Tier 1 capacity.
· Acting as a help desk for users and providing in-person troubleshooting for PC, LAN and all Cardinal mobile devices as needed.
· Image and configure all end user machines (including communal services such as printers and cameras).
· Initial installation of designated applications for employees.
· Identify and escalate issues requiring urgent attention to the appropriate IT member.
· Configure, install and provide training on internal and in-market software used for Cardinal (i.e. Courier Complete) , including the web-based shipping systems and the internet shipping portal.
· Review and monitor shipping systems for accurate operation daily.
· Maintain and update hardware inventory database (tablets, cell phones, laptops, access cards, RF Scanners, Biometric scanners etc.).
· Monitor internal software for warehouse (dims/ cubing, re-weigh) and ensure systems are accurately functioning on a daily basis.
· Provide technical support and training to drivers and brokers for scanners and tablets.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
· Post-secondary training in Computer System Technology required.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in a related work environment
· Working knowledge of .net environment, Web Services and SQL 2005/2008 databases.
· Ability to repair, configure and administer computer, cubing and reweight hardware.
· Ability to provide basic repair, configure and administer Intermec scanners and 3G/GPS Modems
· Proficient in using, installing, and supporting Microsoft Office 365 suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
