Your new company:

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a Large Natural Gas and Electricity company in Surrey, Vancouver. We are looking to hire a Talent Acquisition Associate to join their team on a fixed term contract of 1 year. This role is fully in office, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm

Your new responsibilities:

In your new role, you will develop an understanding of the hiring needs and assess talent.

• Stay active with current with job boards, social networks, and platforms to find talent, and plan, create, and release job descriptions and announcements.
• Conduct phone interviews and evaluate initial candidate fit.
• Assist talent acquisition staff with job fairs and college recruiting events.
• Support talent acquisition efforts by posting jobs, assisting with the screening, interviewing, reference check, background check and offer letter process.

What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful in this role you need 2 - 3 years previous recruitment experience.

• You can quickly understands the needs of the candidate and hiring manager.
• Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual problem solver and an outstanding ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
• Previous experience working for a Unionized environment is essential and dealt with collective agreements.
• Certificate in HR or CPHR is considered an asset.
