Support Practitioner - Driver

You don't need experience in care as a Support worker to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

We're on the lookout for caring and proactive individuals with a positive attitude to join our fabulous #TeamNLCSAidriecentral as Support Practitioners in the Airdrie and Coatbridge areas. We have up to 30 hour contracts available.

The Role

As a Support Practitioner, we'll guarantee you heaps of job satisfaction where no two days are ever the same!

You'll provide support with all aspects of daily living, including cooking and meal preparation, personal care, medication, and managing personal finances. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll support them to do the things they want to do out in the community, including accompanying them on outings and activities, e.g. going to the cinema, shopping, out for lunch/dinner, attending appointments and maintaining relationships with their friends and family.

Your support will enable every individuals to not only maintain their independence and continue to live in their own home; you’ll also help them to play an active part of their community too.

For this role it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable driving the people we support's mobility cars.

All we’ll need you to bring is;

• A full, clean manual driving licence
• A caring and compassionate attitude and approach
• The ability to work well in a team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support possible shift patterns do include split shifts and will involve working a mixture early mornings, days and evenings. Weekends and public holidays will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
