What You Will Do
Supporting Johnson Controls’ Data Center Solutions group and working closely with the Manager of Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI), you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Lean transformation strategy across the organization. You will be a change agent with a fundamental understanding of Lean methodologies and tools, as well as Continuous Improvement principles and will support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and process optimization initiatives and for driving cultural and behavioral changes that support a lean transformation journey enabling the organization to achieve sustainable success.

How You Will Do It
  • Assist in the development and management of the budget for lean and continuous improvement activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost and employee engagement.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership on the status of improvement activities and results achieved.
  • Participate in benchmarking activities to identify best practices and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Define, design, and implement process improvement as part of the Johnson Controls Management System (JCMS), and ensures its integration and alignment vertically and horizontally across organization.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training programs to build Lean and Continuous Improvement capabilities across the organization.
  • Drive the implementation of process improvement as part of the Johnson Controls Management System (JCMS) and ensures its integration and alignment vertically and horizontally across organization.
  • Facilitate the development of hoshin planning processes and aligning improvement activities with company goals.
  • Conduct regular Gemba walks and Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement and identify waste reduction opportunities on the shop floor.
  • Lead and facilitate training workshops to educate and empower employees at all levels of the organization on Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement Lean strategies and initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve efficiency across all areas of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives with overall business strategy.
  • Implement and monitor suggestion systems and other mechanisms to encourage employee participation and engagement in the continuous improvement process.
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to optimize organizational performance, reduce costs, improve product quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of metrics and key performance indicators to measure the success of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Communicate and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement action plans for process improvements and provide hands-on support to ensure successful execution.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing and implementing strategies that drive ongoing process improvement and innovation.
Required
What we look for
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading large-scale Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean methodologies and tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, Standardized Work, Leader Standard Work, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • 6+ years of experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement, including a track record of successful project delivery and organizational transformation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Available for global travel up to 75%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
Preferred
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Lean Practitioner or Lean Expert
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related field.
