Spray Painter (2Nd Shift)

The Opportunity

Curtiss-Wright's Indal Technologies specializes in helicopter securing and traversing systems, marine hangar doors, sonar handling systems, towed line array handling systems, sonar domes, towed bodies and fairings, and aviation support systems including horizon reference, pilot cues, and helicopter tie-down fittings for the world's navies.

Candidates must be available for training on the day shift (6:30AM to 5:00PM) before moving to the afternoon shift. The afternoon shift runs Monday to Thursday from 4:00PM to 2:30AM

Under direct supervision, paints various components per customer specifications. Responsible for the final preparation, flatting and painting. Requires experience in industrial painting applications.

Your Challenge

• Maintains painting equipment and personal protection equipment.
• Must be able to operate Sandblasting equipment and equipment used for surface finishing
• Must be able to sandblast as per drawings and produce quality work within minimal acceptable standards as specified in the procedures.
• May also use sandblasting techniques and maintain inventory and equipment needed for sandblasting. Follows proper disposal procedures for any waste product. May prepare the product for name plate application and secures product for shipment.
• Must be able to operate the following material handling equipment correctly and safely and have taken the training courses provided by the company -Forklifts, cranes, overhead, cranes (floor), plate clamps, special lifting devices, slings and chains.
• Inventories paint material supply.
• Reads paint specifications for application.

Your Expertise

• Must be able to perform paint department functions (except paint) on a variety of traditional and non-traditional work to the required quality standards.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial sand blasting experience using various blast medium and have worked in a paint shop environment
• Must be able to work from Manufacturing Routings (Work Orders).
• Must be able to maintain accurate records of usage sandblast medium and other sundries.
