Production Helper Night Shift

Arch Staffing and Consulting has partnered with a state-of-the-art manufacturing company in the food packaging industry, based in Summerstown, Ontario, in their search for a Production Helper.
The successful candidate will be assisting the Machine Operators in producing quality products. This is a permanent role based on successfully completing their 3-month probationary period.
Shift Information & Compensation

• 11:00PM to 7:00AM
• $20/hourly (plus .85 shift premium)
• Night Shift:Sunday to Thursday work week

What a typical day may look like for you:

• Perform roll changes on doubles and radiants.
• Empty garbage cans of the plastic and place in the cardboard skids
• Furnish the rolls necessary for production
• Responsible for compliance with all aspects of GMP, food safety and quality initiatives.
• Remove the waste material from the machines
• Perform all other jobs or tasks as assigned by the team lead
• Assist the operators in lifting boxes of finished goods and place on skid
• Assist in the production of quality products by ensuring necessary materials are available and the work areas are kept clear.
• Handle various tools and material
• Maintain clean premises in the production area and around the machines
• Retrieve and move material with the jigger lift truck
• Weigh the cages of waste plastic quarterly

What you will require to be successful in this role:

• Quick on your feet and good decision making ability
• Minimum 6 months of factory/manufacturing related experience
• Must be compliant with all aspects of GMP, food safety and quality initiatives
• Good manual dexterity
• Very noisy environment - PPE is mandatory
• Ability to lift/push/pull heavy items up to 15 lbs (6.8 kgs)
• Ability to work in hot conditions in the summer
• Excellent organization and record keeping
• MUST have valid drivers license and vehicle - no transit
