Job Description
The Role


  • Provides a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers.
  • Has active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research
  • Takes a lead role for a designated clinical area with a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge. Has responsibility for the supervision, education and development of more junior staff, physiotherapy support workers and students within the speciality.

What we'll need you to bring
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
  • The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.

Fixed Term until 31/07/2024


Part Time


16.89 hours


Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.


Please note this is a fixed term post until 31/07/2024. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.


Location and Working Pattern


This role will be based in Rehabilitation Team within Airdrie Social Work Department. .


Working pattern will be discussed at Interview.


Full UK/EU/EEA Driving Licence with access to Car is essential
