Software Tester - Sipelia

The team:

The Sipelia group is looking for a software tester passionate about communication systems and technologies. As part of the main Security Center platform, Sipelia is the product that handles the communications between users, intercoms and other external communication systems (Telephony & Public Addressing Systems, Gateways, etc.).

In a context where our customer’s systems are getting more complex and decentralized, communication is a key element for daily operations and for emergency situations.

The ideal candidate for this position would enjoy a variety of QA tasks including Functional Testing, basic manipulation of audio devices and using Automation as a means of increasing efficiency whenever possible. Someone who steps up to do whatever is needed without waiting to be asked and is disciplined and methodological in debugging function level issues.

Expect to be a full partner, impacting the products, the quality, the processes, and the team’s direction.

What your day will look like:

You will join an experienced and dynamic team. Your responsibility will be to participate in the testing of our existing solution and our new Cloud solution that is under development.

Your responsibilities will be the following:

• Design test scenarios and procedures to validate new features during the product development phase
• Perform Root Cause Analysis of issues found in the field and recommend improvements
• Execute function level tests on the various components managed by the team in Security Center and Sipelia products, thus ensuring quality releases of SW
• Evaluate new VoIP equipment to meet market needs or allow customers to reuse existing equipment
• Propose and implement new tools / practices / test automation, to improve team effectiveness and efficiency
• Understand end-to-end use cases and be proficient at feature level testing, debugging and isolation of the defects, as well as ensuring the quality of the product
• Certify SIP devices from different manufacturers to ensure compatibility with our solutions

About you:

• Enjoys the occasional challenge of unfamiliar tasks
• Solid analytical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and ability to follow through on issues until resolution
• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
• Solid technical writing skills to document specifications and test results
• Motivated individual who enjoys teamwork and has excellent interpersonal skills and communicates in French and English

Technical requirements:

• Good knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, IP)
• Good Knowledge of Wireshark
• Good knowledge of test strategies and techniques, test case creation and executing tests at Functional level
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, client-server applications and services
