Senior Tester Jobs

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Tester for a 12-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 1x/week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Key Tasks

• Preparing and documenting defects/bugs, including issues/defect entries and tracking in MS DevOps, including proper reproducing steps and screens, and follow-up to resolution (including retest to closure)
• Provide technical training as required to team members
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Prepare and document Test Cases in Azure DevOps from Business and/or Functional Requirements (BRDs/FRDs), including prep test data, test steps and expected results, screens and additional documents as required, Linkage to requirements (RTM, DevOps), as well as linkage to defect/bugs found with examples.
• Analyze and communicate ERP requirements, Test cases or defects/bugs found to the Development team and/or Functional teams.
• Regression Testing
• Configuration Testing
• ERP System’s Unit Testing
• Assist Senior Test Lead with organization of Testing plans in MS Azure DevOPS (ADO) and mentoring of the junior members of the Testing Team
• Provide test execution and status reports, updating test execution statuses in Azure DevOps (including test cases, defects/bugs, or issues)
• Execute Test plans, Test suite and Test cases, as per industry standards, for the full SIS implementation
• Integration System Testing, including Portal and Security
• Data Migration Testing
• Ensure proper testing coverage for the following Testing Types:
• Business Process/Flow Testing

Key Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with performing integration systems testing, creating test cases from user stories or requirements, executing test cases, logging defects and providing status updates/reporting
• Demonstrated expertise in software bugs identification, problem solving and root cause analysis skills, and experience in functional, integration, regression and non-functional testing
• Demonstrated experience in SaaS and COTS products, Azure Cloud and API testing

Qualifications

• Experience in Performance, Load testing, Accessibility and Mobile device testing
• Advance skillsets with Microsoft Excel (and Smartsheet), Word, Visio and PowerPoint, SharePoint and MS Teams
• Demonstrated experience in working with multi-functional/multi-site teams
• Tools expertise in Defect and Test Case Management (including MS Azure DevOps, JIRA or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Capable of understanding complex systems and the inter-dependencies with subsystems/applications for integration
• Completed a 3-year College diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

• Previous experience with a Student Information System
