What We Are Looking For

The Social Worker will be responsible for intake assessment, providing group and individual therapy to patients in Adult Outpatient Mental Health Services. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in program planning, development and evaluation. The role involves working with the interprofessional team as well as with community partners and agencies.

What You Bring To Oak Valley Health

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Current registration with Ontario College Social Work and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
• A minimum of 5-7 years of previous experience with assessment and treatment in adult mental health setting
• Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
• Experience and willingness to provide both in person and virtual individual and group therapy using platforms such as Zoom for health care and the Ontario Telehealth Network (OTN) is an expectation of the role
• Clinical experience in working with adults who experience mental health diagnoses and concurrent disorders
• Previous experience with program planning, development, and evaluation of group and/or individual therapy
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development
• Masters of Social Work degree (MSW)
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power-point
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
• Demonstrated clinical experience in leading therapy groups such as ; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy for Depression (IPT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Practicing from a trauma informed perspective.
• Proven effective collaborative skills as a member of a interprofessional team

Work Schedule

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday days (9am-5pm), with some flexibility required for potential evening group sessions and occasional Saturdays. Schedules may change based on departmental needs.

Compensation

OPCOM13: $41.41 - $52.76 per hour
