Job Summary
Maintain City assets which include various City Buildings, Parks, Community & Rec Centres, Libraries, sports fields, public pathways, heritage facilities, municipal court house, City Transit, Marinas and Works Yards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor, Electrical & Life Safety Services, the successful candidate will monitor, inspect, maintain, repair, replace or install electrical systems, controls, distribution and equipment in accordance with all codes and standards, in support of effective, efficient operations of City facilities/properties and corporate assets.

• Provide assistance to Community events and activities in regards to temporary electrical requirements
• Promote and participate in a team-based, continuous improvement focused, customer service oriented environment by actively communicating with all staff and clients
• Assist with the development and implementation of the Capital Maintenance Programs
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem solving activities and recommend ways to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of unit operations
• Train Apprentice as assigned
• Utilize communication tools such as tablet, cell phones to retrieve work orders and communicate with supervisor on status of service requests
• Assist staff with the commissioning and handover of new or renovated facilities
• Perform other duties as may be assigned
• Work on high height sports field, parking lot and pathway lighting utilizing bucket trucks and lifts up to and over 100 feet
• Respond to indoor and outdoor building repairs request for all City facilities and properties

Skills And Qualifications

• Must have proven electrical skills with a broad knowledge in this field of work; additional experience in mechanical field is highly preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in Commercial Building Maintenance is required
• Must possess a Valid Ontario Class G drivers licence with a clean driving record that is acceptable to the City of Mississauga
• Knowledge of all applicable municipal and provincial rules, regulations, legislation and by-laws such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHIMIS regulations and Ontario Electrical Safety requirements
• Must be available and willing to provide emergency service after hour as required
• Must be able to work at heights ranging up to and over 100 feet operating bucket trucks and lifts; previous working at heights training is highly preferred
• Experience reading and interpreting specifications and blueprint drawings is required
• Secondary school or Technical school graduation with a trade certificate as Construction and Maintenance Electrician, (Certificate of Qualification 309A) as issued by the Province of Ontario
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Experience working in a fast paced service oriented environment responding to multiple calls in a day
• Experience working with a Computer Maintenance Management System and Electronic Work Order System.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems related to commercial and industrial heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and other installations and relevant electrical and safety codes and regulations

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 74,817.00 - $ 99,758.00
