The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an Electrician for our client’s mining operation in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanentfull time unionized position. Work schedule can vary depending on assigned site and crew.
Accountabilities:
The Electrician will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all electrical systems and equipment underground. The key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Must follow standard safety operating procedures.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Installs, repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots all electrical equipment or components of all voltages at the assigned locations, on any shift schedule.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform quality maintenance work as directed by their supervisor.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Must be experienced and comfortable working at heights.
- Demonstrate the ability to read complex prints along with an exceptional understanding of electrical codes.
- Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to the client.
- Have a completed personal basic trade tool inventory of a recognized quality.
Essential Skills/Qualifications & Assets:
- Minimum three years of recent, relevant experience is required. Experience working in underground mining/ industrial experience would be an asset.
- Willing and able to undergo pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Industrial Electrician Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
