Job Description
About The Role


Amsted Automotive Group, London Transform , is looking for an electrician to focus on repairs, adjustments and intallations of various types of production equipment; developing solutions for assembly processes and implementing lean manufacturing techniques . There are also continuous improvement efforts put forth to existing processes with the goal of improving quality and efficiency of the assembly process. This position will reside on-site in our London, Ontario plant. They will also participate in regular department meetings and interface with the plant.


What You'll Do


  • Champion projects independently or within prescribed teams with respect to investigations, feasibility studies for improved programming methods, cycle time reductions, new tooling, and other related improvements for all production equipment including Presses/CNC machining/WF processes
  • Responsible for the repair / adjustment, maintenance, installation of various types of production equipment
  • Inform, record, report as required or appropriate
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various office / plant fixtures and equipment
  • Responsible to participate in team activities and perform duties safely in manner that reflects sense of “urgency” with respect to meeting deadlines and goals
  • Responsible to create or participate in the creation of systems / documentation requirements to ensure compliance to ISO/TS16949, ISO14001, and Q1
  • Complete work assignments with accuracy, sense of urgency, and in a safe manner in accordance with established standards, and all applicable Regulations / Legislation
  • Responsible to set up, collaboratively troubleshoot (in conjunction with toolmakers, millwrights, CNC techs, electricians, production personnel and vendors), equipment, repair programs and tooling as required
  • Responsible to conduct all work in accordance with handbook / trade / training standards, and responsibilities defined in job documents (job descriptions, operator instructions, etc)
  • Responsible to troubleshoot, carry out preventative maintenance as scheduled / required on all plant and facility equipment including various types of presses, CNC, lathes, flow forming, overhead cranes to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth flow of operations through optimal performance of equipment
  • Responsible for the maintaining of tracking data for all plant equipment including, but not limited to CNC lathes, WF, presses, washers, Grob


What You'll Need To Succeed


  • Must have 2-5 years field experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong organizational and time managements skills
  • Must have knowledge of Siemens PLC Drives
  • Voltage experience (600 VAC), stamping presses and related machinery, robotic / teach pendants, CNC, PLC an asset
  • Ability to adapt and maintain performance in changing work environment
  • Must have Mig and/or Arc welding and use of cutting torches
  • Must have knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict, foster good team and inter-department relations
  • Effective interpersonal / communication skills required
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have knowledge of programming Siemens PLC
  • Journeyman status or equivalent as and Industrial Electrician (442A)
  • Multi-tasking, fast paced environment
  • Must have ability to read / interpret blue prints, electrical hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Ability to achieve results / targets through others who are not direct reports
