We are currently recruiting a Skid Steer Operator to Assist with our University 2 Job located at 11329 University Ave, Edmonton, Alberta. This will be a full time position.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Uses equipment to prepare building sites for exterior site concrete such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and loading docks.
• Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs.
• Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors.
• Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in structural concrete.
• Operates machinery used to build bridges, roads, and railroads.
• Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift.
• Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Outside work, appropriate dress required.
• Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.
• Overtime and work on weekends as required.
• Long term, steady, year-round work
• One paid 15 minute break and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day

• Ability to use and read proper hand signals when directing traffic or being directed while operating.

• Knowledge of how to run a Skid Steer efficiently and safely

Requirements

• Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, sharp hand tools
• Exposure to noise, dust, pollution
• Manual dexterity
• WHMIS 2015 required (we can provide)
• Reliable transportation
• Exposure to cold/hot weather. Appropriate dress required for weather conditions.
• Ability to lift between 11 and 25 kg.
• Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
• Steel toe boots required
