Department: Grande Prairie Central Function


Overview


Pembina is sourcing for an Operator to join the Grande Prairie Team. This position reports to the Central Area Day Foreman in the Conventional Business Unit, (CBU), part of Pembina’s Pipelines Division. Pembina's conventional pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and NGL across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota.


Responsibilities


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Participate in a weekly call out rotation responding to after hour call outs due to equipment and/or operational problems;
  • Maintain pumps and valves by making repairs and conducting field inspections to ensure reliability and dependability for day-to-day operations;
  • Responsible for routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, that include troubleshooting, repair of pump stations, block valves, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
  • Organize and manage contractors as required; and
  • Support Pembina’s goals, objectives along with participating an Inclusive and Diverse workplace.
  • Be responsible for maintaining daily pipeline operations including measurement concepts, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
  • Work Schedule to be determined.
  • Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing generally accepted company and industry safety practices;
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Conduct meter verifications and proving;


Job Qualifications


  • Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a high demand environment;
  • 3+ years of related work experience, Operating experience preferred;
  • Competencies relating to active listening, influencing, diplomacy and the abilities dealing with multiple priorities;
  • Collaborative nature, with strong capabilities contributing to teams with proven success of positive interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
  • Results oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change; and
  • Strong capabilities in an adapting to a workplace in which you will need to adjust your plans in response to shifting strategic priorities;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Hands-on experience with various computer applications, SAP experience considered an asset;


This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.


The successful candidate must live within 100km of the Grande Prairie.


Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
