Job Description

Company Overview:


KWESST develops and delivers next generation military and public safety technology for military and first responder customers. The company is proudly Canadian and provides Dismounted/Mounted Domain Expertise in Command-and-Control software development, integration and support services.

KWESST is seeking talented individuals with an expertise in the Canadian and international defence C4ISR domain to offer specialized software development and integration solutions to the Canadian Army through the Defence Software Engineering Facility (DSEF). They will be actively involved in all aspects of the software development cycle with a focus on increasing system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability. They will also manage, and support activities related to DLSCPM test environments, including various unclassified and classified test lab environments, at various service levels, and support any additional communities of interest and technical environments as needed.

The Senior Products Manager will be responsible for performing the below tasks.


Job Responsibilities:


·Manage one or more software experts and software products, each responsible for an element of the overall DSEF software product list.

·Manage the software product or products during the development, implementation and operations startup by ensuring that resources are made available, and that the product is developed and is fully operational within previously agreed time, cost and performance parameters.

·Formulate statements of problems, establishes procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new or modified software product elements to solve these problems, and obtains approval thereof.

·Define and document the objectives for the software product - determine budgetary requirements, the composition, roles and responsibilities and terms of reference for the software product team.

·Report progress of the software product on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle.

·Meets in conference with stakeholders and other product managers and states problems in a form capable of being solved.

·Prepare plans, charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems, work with a variety of product management tools.

·Ensures product sign-off; and

·Perform any other Work related to this category.

Mandatory Qualifications:


I.Experience:


·Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in each of the following:

·Demonstrated experience working as a product manager for products in excess of $1M per year expenditure.

·Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting technical and management’s documents.

·Demonstrated experience in stakeholder and communications management in a product context.

·Demonstrated experience in product financial management for products in excess of $1M per year expenditure.

·Demonstrated experience in product scope management for products in excess of $1M per year expenditure.

·Demonstrated experience in product schedule management for products in excess of $1M per year expenditure.

·Demonstrated experience in product risk management for products in excess of $1M per year expenditure.

·Demonstrated experience in product management in the field of Firepower, ISR, CAISR, or Modelling and Simulation.

·Drafting correspondence and making recommendations on the acceptance or rejection of deliverables.

·Preparing Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLS) and Data Item Descriptions (DID).


II.Education:


·Undergraduate level university degree in any discipline or a college diploma in Engineering Technology, Project/Product Management, Business Administration or suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.

·Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with one or more of the following Canadian Army C2 Specialty Applications would be an asset:

·Fires Automation Targeted Effects System (FATES).

·Indirect Fire Control Software Suite (IFCSS).

·Engineer Command and Control Information System (EC2IS).

·Variable Message Format Processor (VMFP).

·Ballistic Calculator Software (BCS).

·Director Armament Sustainment Program Management (DASPM).

·NATO Sub-Group 2 (SG2) Sharable Software Suite.

·Armaments Ballistics Kernel (NABK).

·Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities (ASCA); and

·Logistics Functional Area Services (LOGFAS).
