AlleyCorp is a venture studio – we start companies. AlleyCorp Nord is the Montreal-based technology arm of AlleyCorp – we build companies.

AlleyCorp Nord hires engineers and product designers for brand-new companies. We work exclusively with extremely early-stage (pre-seed) startups — sometimes literally only a single founder. We provide the infrastructure (in every sense of the word) for product development to be successful from day one.

Senior Product Designer

About the Role

This job is for you if you are fast on your feet, an independent and self-motivated learner, and extremely excited about shaping products from the ground up.

You’ll be working alongside a small team, and you may be on your own sometimes, but it’s important that you be a team player who likes to talk through problems with others and share knowledge. We love empathy and humility in all our team members!

In this role, you will collaborate closely with our clients to understand their requirements and translate them into design specifications for user interfaces. Participating in research to gain insights into client needs, you'll create wireframes, flow diagrams, interactive prototypes, and mockups for various applications and Design Systems. You will be instrumental in clarifying user requirements, incorporating business needs, and collaborating with developers and product teams to standardize design components.

Key Success Factors:

• Design Transformation: Proven ability to transform complex, unintuitive UIs into seamless, elegant, and user-centric interfaces.
• Experience with: Control interfaces for drones or robots on both laptops and mobile devices
• Navigation Expertise: Proven capability in designing GPS mapping and intuitive routes
• Data-Driven Design: Familiarity with tools and methodologies for integrating data insights, analytics, and A/B testing into design refinements.
• Innovative Tech Design: Has experience designing for cutting-edge technologies, such as gaming (3D), XR, Drones, and Robots.
• Design Thought Leadership: Comfortable leading design efforts independently and collaboratively, fostering growth within the design team.
• Rapid Iteration: Proficiency in rapidly iterating on design concepts, flows, wireframes, and prototypes to achieve exceptional user experiences.

• Versatile Professional Background: A track record of versatile professional experiences spanning multiple domains
• Experience: 5+ years of professional design experience across various contexts.
• Tech and Industry Passion: Keen interest in tech-driven industries like healthcare, MedTech, robotics
• Entrepreneurial Experience: Demonstrated entrepreneurial background, showcasing your ability to lead and innovate across various business contexts.
