Senior Lead Business Analyst

What is the Opportunity?

The Senior Lead Business Analyst is responsible for requirement activities on medium to large sized initiatives covering delivery of new projects involving significant modifications to existing systems and processes related to vendor management and contract governance. The role is also responsible to lead, coach and provide guidance to a team of Business Analysts and their assigned projects. The role leverages prior BA experience (5+ years) and demonstrates deep understanding of business analysis tasks as well as competencies, leading initiatives with guidance when needed. The role is responsible for execution of all aspects of requirements delivery: planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation, stakeholder management, and project life cycle support.

What will you do?

• Define the business analysis approach including tasks and deliverables based on the project and delivery methodology
• Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities
• Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
• Review, analyze and evaluate user needs to create systems solutions that support business strategies.
• Perform requirements stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups and stakeholder requirements responsibilities
• Apply advanced elicitation techniques to work with different types of stakeholder groups
• Manage risks, assumptions and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties
• Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates

Analysis and Documentation

• Define scope and objectives.
• Review, analyze and evaluate user needs to create systems solutions that support business strategies
• Troubleshooting technical issues
• Systems Support
• Risk mitigation planning
• Document business requirements.
• Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads and IT team to resolve issues and ensuring solutions are viable and consistent

Coaching & mentoring

• Lead a group of Business Analysts
• Provide guidance and coaching as needed throughout the lifecycle of their projects

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 5+ years of Experience working as a Business Analyst with progressively increasing responsibilities in the areas of requirements management on large and complex projects
• Experience in requirements planning and prioritization including stakeholder analysis and effort estimation
• Excellent communication, active-listening, relationship-building, self-management, proactive, team-player, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and/or Agile
• Experience in leading a team
• Expert level of requirements analysis and documentation skills: Problem Opportunity Analysis, Scope Modelling, Business Process Mapping, Business Context Diagraming, High-level and Detailed Requirements, Use Cases & Scenarios, Business Rules & Data Catalogue, User Stories, Story Decomposition, Story Mapping, Requirements traceability and non-functional requirements

Nice-to-have

• Agile Certification (CSM, CPO)
• Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI – PBA)
