We have a new opportunity for a talented graphic designer to lead our worldwide brand. This job is never boring and offers potential for advancement.
The Senior Graphic Designer is the keeper of the Savaria brand. The successful candidate maintains brand standards throughout all global divisions of the company where the Savaria brand represents products and services. In collaboration with the marketing vice president, the Senior Graphic Designer works with marketing staff and junior designers for all forms of media to ensure the brand’s look and feel is conveyed effectively. The SGD develops new concepts for design in print and electronic forms and mentors marketing staff involved in daily projects to maximize communications to all audiences. It's a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Preps images and other assets for print or digital use using best practices with advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Prepares or guides preparation of email headers for Mailchimp
- Designs and assists in production of retail merchandising materials including store décor and graphics, visual merchandising plans, signage
- Proposes creative ideas and concepts, working with the marketing staff in a collaborative manner
- Designs print brochures and print ads using advanced skills with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, including strong page layout skills and attention to typography details
- Prepares diagrams and illustrations for various communications including technical support documents as needed
- Efficiently manages project timelines and client communications
- Experienced with pre-press to set up and prepare files for printing, experienced with quoting, proofing, print finishing, vendor management
- Prepares corporate communications include press releases, investor presentations and ESG reports
- Works with the senior media producer on web site designs and direction
- Presents ideas and concepts with confidence
- Designs electronic brochures (Turtl) including multi-lingual documents
- Provides recommendations to other marketing staff or agencies on design to comply with brand and deliver best results
Skills Required
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, best practices on construction of files and workflows
- Ability to mentor other staff and direct design on smaller projects
- Creative eye for layout and concept execution that meets brand standards
- Ability to accept feedback in a positive manner
- Ambitious and passionate about learning and improving
- Strong communication skills in English written and verbal (French is a big plus)
- Experience with a wide variety of media design including web/digital, print, retail, advertising, corporate, logo, employee communications, video titling
- Ability to manage time and prioritize projects in a fast-paced company
- Ability to manage many projects and busy workload with a wide variety of project types
Education/Experience
- Expert level in Adobe Creative Cloud, expertise in other related software for video/animation is a plus
- University or college degree in business, marketing, marketing communications, digital, graphic design/art
- Canadian citizen or legally able to work in Canada
- Print production experience required
- 5-7+ years of full time work experience in print/digital communications in a corporate environment or ad agency
