Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer works as part of dynamic and engaged team to design marketing, communications and sales support materials; produce creative and innovative design solutions using both written and visual elements; follow established Niagara Parks branding and content protocols to develop products such as advertising for Niagara Parks owned channels, digital and print publications, point of sale materials, flyers, menus, posters, digital and printed newsletters and signage; prepare print-ready high resolution files; liaise with print production suppliers as required; ensure timely product delivery to end users.
This position compensates at a rate of $27.21 per hour to $33.45 per hour ($51,290.85 to $63,053.25 annually) as well as offers a comprehensive benefit plan and defined benefit pension plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working within a related team environment.
- Ability to learn new software and technology platforms.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Creative Suite, web design principles and social media knowledge.
- Familiarity and experience with HTML is considered and asset.
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional team.
- Ability to multi-task in computerized environment.
- Experience in print and web graphic design or multimedia production with proven competence in design and image processing software, desktop publishing, graphic design and layout skills; demonstrated creativity, flexibility, attention to detail; deadline-oriented; ability to follow directions; excellent proofreading and editing skills essential.
- Demonstrates maturity and integrity in dealing with customers or confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong customer service skills including communication interpersonal skills both oral and written.
- Completion of a Diploma/degree in graphic or web design, digital media, advertising, marketing communications or equivalent.
- Bilingualism an asset.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Strong organizational ability to coordinate the activities of several projects simultaneously.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GRAPHIC DESIGN PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
- Maintains Niagara Parks master digital image library.
- Adheres to Niagara Parks file management protocol, maintaining well-organized, efficiently archived files.
- Responsible for content and design through to final production of materials to support sales and marketing initiatives and strategies, including print, web, and digital media.
- Ensures all work is compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, policies/procedures, and the Accessibility for Disabled Ontarians Act (AODA) with specific knowledge for creating accessible PDF documents.
- As assigned.
- Proofreads to produce accurate and high-quality work.
- Develops concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, logos, and website elements following NPC branding standards.
- Liaises with internal stakeholders and coordinates assets (content, photos, videos, digital templates).
- Liaises with external printers to ensure deadlines are met and materials printed to the highest quality.
- Issues regular weekly and/or monthly reports as required including status of all projects.
- Designs promotional/creative materials for digital advertising campaigns, such as web banners and for print campaigns, such as visual advertisements, posters, flyers, coupons, rack cards, etc. for various departments.
- Keeps abreast of emerging design technologies to ensure state of the art processes are used.
- Ensures work is engaging and distinctive within the destination tourism industry.
- Works with all departments to ensure materials comply with AODA standards, including print materials and pdfs such as WEGO schedules and digital marketing materials.
