Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a CPA currently working in Audit to join the wealth management division. This new role was created to support the Director of Finance & Tax in the financial & regulatory audit requirements. This is an attractive opportunity for an individual seeking a more diverse role where you can assist with financial reporting, management reporting, corporate tax, continuous improvement and support the aggressive expansion through M&A.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 busy seasons as an auditor. An individual technically savvy with financial reporting, supporting & creating analytics, curious enough to spot better processes or new financial information that should be tracked. Our client is looking for someone ambitious, forward-thinking, analytically driven, and strives to learn and push themselves to tackle new and unfamiliar projects.

Role Responsibilities:

• Designing and performing monthly processes for financial reporting.
• Researching IFRS accounting standards and proposing accounting treatment.
• Designing analytics and providing insights into trends and figures.
• Proposing projects to implement process improvements.
• Researching and recommending the implementation of special reports as needed to support the business. (e.g. M&A or other initiatives).
• Assistance with ad-hoc projects, as required.
• Reviewing general ledgers, preparing account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related documents/schedules.
• Supporting external financial and regulatory reporting as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

• Excellent excel skills, including familiarity with building models.
• Minimum two busy seasons at an audit firm.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Demonstration ability to identify issues and develop recommendations.
• Team-oriented and desire to work within a growing organization.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• CPA or CPA Candidate that has passed the CFE.

Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.
