Excellent opportunity for a recent CPA graduate to transition from public practice into industry with significant room for growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
Financial Accounting - Partner Entities
-Compile financial reporting packages for separate legal entities:
-Prepare month, and year-end financial statements; which includes month-end reconciliations, journal entries, and coding
-Ensure account reconciliations and/or working papers are complete in a timely manner with appropriate follow-up on discrepancies (Prepaids & deposits, capital assets, bank, etc.)
-Complete accurate and timely government remittances (GST reconciliations & filing)
-Provide financial information and regulatory reporting to the leadership team by analyzing accounting data and preparing reports for strategic decision making
-Complete ad-hoc financial information requests from finance and operational departments
Management Support Functions
-Create, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPI)
-Support external audit requirements
-Support annual inventory count process
-Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization
-Support Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager with planning, analysis and financial reporting
-Create and maintain digital filing structure for corporate and legal documents
-Identify and assist with implementation of process efficiencies
Qualifications
-Degree in Accounting and equivalent experience required
-Completed CPA designation or working towards is required
-2 years minimum experience in public practice required, experience in small business accounting is a strong asset
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external resources
-Excellent time management and organization skills to simultaneously handle and prioritize multiple tasks/projects
-Very strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
-Ability to meet deadlines, articulate ideas, and react appropriately under pressure
-Proficient in the use of computer programs (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with working knowledge of Excel at a high intermediate level
