Lead, Operations Accountant Jobs

High Tide is seeking a Lead, Operations Accountant. Reporting to the Operations Controller, the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for liaising with the operations, and accounting teams, providing accounting support where necessary.

Management accountants analyze key financial information to optimize financial planning. They assist senior business managers with financial decision-making, prepare financial reports, and develop and implement strategies to reduce businesses' operational and production costs.

A Day In The Life

• Lead monthly financial reviews of both Brick and Mortal and E-commerce Business (Accessory lines), and analysis of operational results.
• Preparing financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.
• Ensure that these policies and procedures not only adhere to regulatory standards (IFRS), but also to provide value-add to the business.
• Work in conjunction with business managers to provide forecasts and actuals comparisons. Partner with the head of the e-commerce group as well as B&M area managers on design, and implementation of improvements to the ERP system.
• Develop and implement cost-effective financial policies and procedures, as well as mitigating financial risks.
• Ensure appropriate / standard GL usage across all entities.
• Assist with the preparation of business units (B&M and E-commerce) profitability analysis.
• Accountable for administering data integrity for High Tide companies – including international subsidiaries.
• Lead the deployment of those policies across High Tide companies – including international subsidiaries.

• Relevant IFRS and financial reporting experience is required.
