BWXT Medical Ltd is seeking an Accountant (Financial Analyst). This position can be located in either Vancouver, British Columbia or Ottawa, Ontario.

Note: This position is remote with the successful candidate being located in either the Greater Vancouver or Greater Ottawa area as daily site visits will be required on occasion.

Position Summary

This position reports to the Head of Finance, BWXT Medical Ltd., and ensures that financial statements are accurate and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and is involved in forecasting the company's financial performance.

Accountabilities

• Support the Engineering teams by coordinating the monitoring, reporting and analysis of major project spending and provide cost centre support for Forecasting, Planning and current view projections.
• Current year revenue projections including advising on issues potentially affecting meeting performance targets;
• Primary Finance support for Manufacturing and Engineering, and related management teams, including product cost analysis, inventory review, cost centre spending, and key performance metric reporting.
• Monitoring and reporting for the Medical Isotope component of the Sales Compensation Plan.
• Provide cost centre support for forecasting, planning and current view projections;
• Performing monthly account reconciliations as well as recording banking transactions.
• Complying with SOX controls.
• Medical Isotope inventory.
• Major cost drivers;
• The Medical Isotopes Lines of Business, including revenue analysis, costs, and project spend, Working Capital, Cash Flow, and foreign exchange exposure;
• Support of the Medical Isotope business in the following areas:
• Contributing to the month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting process, including journal entries, performance analysis and other routine transactions.
• Forecasting, planning and current view projections for:
• Business case preparation and analysis.

Education & Experience

• Financial modeling skills with a strong understanding of key business drivers
• At least 5 years experience in a Finance department applying management accounting in an analyst role
• Demonstrated skills in establishing strong working relationships with senior executives, internal/external customers, suppliers, contractors and team members
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
• Experience in an ERP financial system required. Preferably Oracle, SAP/BPC, OnesStream
• Experience working in the manufacturing or life sciences industry is an asset
• Experience in LeanSigma in preferred
• Strong organizational and analytical skills;ability to deal with ambiguity and to take initiative
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have the ability to work in a team environment
• CPA Professional Accounting Designation preferred; or currently pursuing CPA designation
