Senior Business Analyst, ServiceNow


Job location: This is a remote position, unless you are based in Ottawa, where we work in a hybrid model with the expectation to work in the office with a minimum of 3 days a week.


About The Team


The Senior Business Analyst – ServiceNow will own the success of our ServiceNow platform as a member of our IT Application Excellence team within Corporate IT. You will be an evangelist for ServiceNow throughout the company, and ensure the platform is robust, healthy, current, and fulfilling the needs of the business. Your immediate objective will be to support the ongoing effort to reduce our technical debt and backlog on Agile framework.


The portfolio team you will join is responsible for designing, configuring, building, and supporting solutions on various applications and platforms including ServiceNow, Atlassian,
Kantata
, Miro and Aha!. Your potential familiarity or experience supporting these platforms would complement this team.

In this role you will proactively partner with all stakeholders to understand the business objectives, operating model, and processes. Through this gained business knowledge, you will identify areas where user experience, efficiency and productivity could be improved using business process improvements and technology solutions. Essential responsibilities include managing relationships, communications, business process development and analysis, data analysis, requirements elicitation and definition, solution configuration, troubleshooting and support, project coordination, documentation, training and ensuring compliance with IT General Controls including Sarbanes Oxley 404 Controls.
As the senior member of the team, you will act as a Product Owner for all ServiceNow Platform-related discussions and activities, along with managing an active and constantly evolving backlog of projects, deliverables and items in Agile framework.
What you will do
  • Lead the implementation and support of ServiceNow modules, upgrades, enhancements, fixes, and features in collaboration with business SMEs, Solution Architects, Business Analysts and Developers.
  • Lead new application implementation projects, including project coordination, data migration, user training, ITIL process implementation go-live and post-go-live support.
  • Lead collaborative teams of business users and stakeholders, subject matter experts, business analysts, and developers to drive value from our investment in the ServiceNow platform.
  • Be the ServiceNow guru at Kinaxis, understand and interpret new features and functions in forthcoming ServiceNow releases and continually broaden your ServiceNow knowledge and skillset to ensure we take full advantage of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Work with this collaborative team to manage the backlog of ServiceNow improvement opportunities (features, enhancements, fixes etc.) using an Agile approach, delivering a regular sprint release cycle.
  • Provide business analysis, implementation, integration, configuration, and testing excellence in support of the ServiceNow platform.
What we are looking for
  • Expertise with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) & agile practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to influence and lead a diverse group in technology implementations.
  • 5+ years of functional/professional experience in the below ServiceNow Modules, this includes business analysis, project management, testing and/or application support, with a minimum of 2+ years ServiceNow experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate several alternative solutions to meet business needs.

  • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • ServiceNow Administrator Certification, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist, or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Certification preferred. ITIL Certification a plus.
  • Experience leading ServiceNow implementations & integrations, optimizing workflows, notifications, mobile app, virtual agent, performance analytics, CMDB, asset management and regular upgrades highly desired.
