Alcon Canada’s Vision Care Marketing team is looking for a Senior Brand Manager to lead the marketing strategy and execution of our #1 brands in the eye care category. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Vision Care, the Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing clearly defined marketing strategies to develop our #1 OTC eye care portfolio. This includes driving brand growth, improving brand equity, and generating short- and long-term ROI for our brands. This role is multi-channel growing our brands through marketing directly to Consumers, and to Health Care Professionals, including Optometrists, Ophthalmologists and Pharmacists.

As the Senior Brand Manager:
- A&P budget & sample management – forecasting and adherence.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve objectives; Stakeholders include Global Marketing, National Retail Accounts, Customer Excellence, LifeCycle Management, Field Sales, Regulatory Affairs, and Senior Management.
- Seek financial improvements, including pricing, mix, promotions, ROI on marketing and promotional expenditures.
- Conduct analysis of specific business issues and evaluate competitive activity, product performance and marketing communications and proactively share findings.
- Leading the OTC marketing pillar, develop and implement marketing strategies (short and long-term) and tactical plans for the OTC brands to generate demand, drive sales, market share and profit improvements.
- Mentorship of Interns, Associate and Product Managers on the team
- Establish marketing tactical plans including advertising/promotions, pricing, distribution channel management, tactical plan development and execution.
- Work closely with agency partners (creative, media, PR, shopper) to develop, evaluate, execute, and track advertising/promotions.
- Motivate both internal and third-party salesforces focused on Retailers and HCPs (Optometrists and Pharmacists) through partnering on insights-gathering through to tactical execution.
- Execute new product launches to accelerate growth. Partner with Global Marketing teams to collaborate on launch timings and resource allocation and ensure strategy and tactical execution of new product launches is strong.
- Leverage alliances with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to drive scientific understanding of our brands with customers and consumers.
- Deliver creative commercial programs that entice consumers to trust and try our brands and drive influence for Alcon product recommendations based on consumer and customer insights.
- Define channel product positioning and competitive selling strategies.
Other:
- Ability to travel up to 15% of time for conferences and customer events.
- This role is based in our Canadian Headquarters in Mississauga Ontario.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education Minimum: MBA or Bachelor’s degree (Preferred B.Sc. or Bachelor of Commerce)
Experience Minimum: 5+ years brand management experience in CPG or OTC
Preferred Experience: 5+ years related marketing experience and 2-3 years sales experience.
Languages: Advanced English (verbal & written), French is an asset
- Robust ability to plan, manage and execute multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
- Aptitude with both qualitative and quantitate data to distil insights for action.
- Effective giving compelling presentations.
- A desire to be the go-to OTC/CPG marketer in the company and lead this function by delivering new perspectives on how to drive performance of our brands.
- Talented in developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
